Here at Skyline, we have several goals.
The first goal is to give artists an outlet for their work. There are so many brilliant pop culture artists, but unfortunately, they aren’t the ones who typically get the gallery shows, unless it’s in Venice, SoHo or another progressive place. So, by doing this, we give you, the artist, an opportunity to showcase your stuff (and make some money too).
Hand in hand with the first goal, is our desire to share art with the world. Living in Hollywood, we’re privy to seeing art on nearly every building, regardless of if it’s legal or not. But as soon as we leave the Wood, all that changes. The art vanishes and we see a world devoid of expression. But by wearing these clothes you make your world a better place and show everyone that you know what’s up.
By utilizing fashion designers, we add hand-done acoutrements to every piece that we design. This way, not only are you getting a one-of-a-kind piece of art, but you’re also getting a hand made piece (which was constructed in USA of course). This way you’re wearing a piece of art (like those people who walk around with million dollar watches on, only yours is radder).
Incorporating Facebook, one of the biggest online platforms in the world, everyone has a chance to post their design and get it on a shirt, which is chosen democratically of course (the real democracy, not the way our government likes to do it).
We also want to give back to the community. Every artist will be able to choose a charity of their liking, and a portion of all the profits made from their designs will go to that group. This way, you are giving back too! By supporting your artist, you support what they believe in.
Finally, we know what it’s like to be a starving artist, and it sucks. All you want is that sweatshirt, but it will cost you as much as your electric bill. We want you to wear what you like and not have to sacrifice for art. By supporting this movement, you not only spread the popularity of an artist, get one-of-a-kind clothes, give back to the community, but you also share art with the world. You’re playing a big part in making this world an artists’ community, filled with creativity, expession and good will.
So, that’s it. That’s what Skyline is all about. Jump on board with the movement!
